Resale Records — Terms of Service

By using Resale Records you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Resale Records.

1. What Resale Records Is

Resale Records is a financial record-keeping app for individual resellers, pickers, and estate-sale flippers. It lets you:

• Track purchases (with photos, location, cost, source type)
• Track sourcing trips and mileage
• Track sales and calculate per-sale profit
• Track charitable donations (with optional receipt OCR)
• Export a Schedule C-shaped CSV for your tax preparer

Resale Records is NOT:

• A tax preparation service
• A tax filing service
• Tax, legal, or financial advice
• A licensed accounting, CPA, or EA firm
• A money transmitter or payment processor

The CSV export is data, not advice. You are responsible for verifying its accuracy and for filing your own taxes. We strongly recommend giving the export to a licensed CPA, EA, or tax preparer before filing.

2. Your Account

• You must be 18 or older to use Resale Records.
• You're responsible for keeping your password secure. We do not

store your password in plaintext; we use Supabase Auth which hashes with bcrypt.

• You're responsible for everything that happens under your account.

If you suspect unauthorized access, change your password immediately and email [email protected].

• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or

that we reasonably believe are being used for fraud, abuse, or to harm other users.

3. Your Data

3.1 You own your data

You own all data you create in Resale Records: purchases, trips, sales, donations, photos, notes. We claim no ownership over it.

3.2 We store it

Your data is stored in our Supabase Postgres database with row-level security scoping (a user can only see their own data). Photos are stored in Supabase Storage. Backup retention is governed by Supabase's standard policies (see https://supabase.com/docs/guides/platform/backups).

3.3 We delete it on request

Email [email protected] with "Delete account" in the subject line. We delete the account and all associated data within 30 days. After deletion, the data is unrecoverable — even from backups.

3.4 One specific case: OpenAI and donation receipts

If you use the "Snap a receipt" feature for donations, the receipt photo is sent to OpenAI's GPT-4o Vision API to extract structured fields (date, organization, declared value). The photo is processed under OpenAI's API terms (see https://openai.com/policies/api-data-usage):

• OpenAI retains API inputs for up to 30 days for abuse

monitoring, then deletes them.

• OpenAI does not use API inputs for model training.

We display an explicit consent modal before sending any photo. You can decline — the donation can be entered manually. Your consent choice is stored locally on your device via @capacitor/preferences and can be revoked at any time from Settings → Donations → OCR Provider.

3.5 What we do NOT do

• We do not sell your data to third parties.
• We do not use your data for advertising.
• We do not share your data with data brokers.
• We do not use your data to train AI models (yours or anyone else's).
• We do not log your activity for tracking purposes.

4. Subscriptions (Resale Records Pro)

4.1 What you get

Resale Records Pro lifts the free-tier limits on:

• Pickups per month (free: 25, Pro: unlimited)
• Trips per month (free: 50, Pro: unlimited)
• Donation-receipt OCR per month (free: 5, Pro: unlimited)

Pro is sold via Apple In-App Purchase on iOS. The free tier on web/unsupported-platform builds is not subscribable (you must use iOS or Android to subscribe — see Apple Guideline 3.1.5).

4.2 Pricing

Prices may be adjusted in the future. Existing subscriptions honor their original price for the duration of the subscription period.

4.3 Auto-renewal

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage your subscription in your Apple App Store account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple per their standard policies (we cannot issue refunds directly).

4.4 Restore

If you switch devices or reinstall Resale Records, use the "Restore purchases" button on the paywall to re-link your existing Pro entitlement. This is required by Apple Guideline 3.1.5.

4.5 No refunds from us

All billing is handled by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information and cannot process refunds. Contact Apple Support for refund requests.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Resale Records for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to access another user's data.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app (except as

permitted by applicable law).

• Upload content that infringes on someone else's intellectual

property.

• Use Resale Records to harass, defraud, or harm others.
• Attempt to circumvent the free-tier limits via automated means

(bots, scripts, or programmatic APIs we have not documented).

• Upload malicious content (viruses, malware, etc.) via the photo

upload paths.

We may terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Disclaimers

RESALERECORDS IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including:

• The app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
• The data will be accurate or reliable.
• The Schedule C-shaped CSV export will be accepted by the IRS or

any tax authority.

• The OpenAI-powered OCR will correctly extract fields from any

receipt.

You are solely responsible for:

• The accuracy of data you enter.
• Verifying any OCR-extracted fields before saving.
• Filing your taxes correctly (we are not a tax preparation service).
• Backing up data you consider critical (we maintain backups but

do not guarantee against data loss).

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Resale Records (and its operators, contributors, and affiliates) will not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive

damages.

• Any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.
• Any damages resulting from your reliance on the Schedule C-shaped

CSV export or any other data the app produces.

• Any damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account

due to your failure to secure your password.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain damages, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Termination

• By you: Stop using Resale Records. To permanently delete your

account and data, email [email protected].

• By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you

violate these terms. We will attempt to notify you before termination unless the violation is severe (fraud, abuse, illegal activity).

After termination, sections 3, 5, 6, 7, and 9 survive.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Resale Records will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Warren County, Texas.

(If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that does not allow this choice of law or forum, the mandatory laws of your jurisdiction apply.)

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via:

• An in-app banner on next launch
• An email to your registered address (at least 30 days before

the change takes effect)

Continued use of Resale Records after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you may delete your account before the effective date.

12. License

Resale Records the software is provided under a proprietary license. You may use it for personal or commercial record-keeping purposes. You may not redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app.

Some open-source libraries are used (see /home/nathan/research/pickledger/node_modules/*/LICENSE for per-package licenses — the Capacitor / React / Supabase / Vite ecosystem is mostly MIT-licensed).

By using Resale Records, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms of Service and the separate Privacy Policy.
